Business in general can be said as a “game of gamble” in which a person keeps his money at stake for getting more of it. The person who wins this gamble is known as a “Businessman”. The gamble a person plays can be on big scale (Large Industries) or small scale (Small Business). It’s more of an art than any qualification. Starting a business is no big deal as it is just a mere investment and consequently the business is something which has ability to generate profit. “Sales” is an inseparable part of business; it’s an art of selling your product. “Sales” is something about dealing with people and make them understand all you say. A salesperson is not less than a charmer who talks to a person who is complete stranger to him and slowly gets into his personal space and reads his mind and accordingly talks to him, becomes his adviser and very cleverly sells his product and makes the complete stranger his customer.

Business Strategies:
• Before starting any business let it be small scale or large scale, we must have adequate knowledge about it. This enables you to converse with clients more confidently on market trends and impact of future govt. policies on your product.
• You must be very much familiar with your competitor’s products, price and positioning.
• You must keep an eye on your nearest competitor’s every activity such as: their main selling points and new product releases.
• You must always be ready with more than one backup plans in case your opponent changes his policy to affect you.

Sales Strategies:
• As a professional salesman you must be fully informed about the industry for which you are selling. You should also be vey familiar with the company you are representing, be well informed about the latest activities going on within the organization.
• One more, most important point you must remember is to know your product thoroughly as it can be very frustrating to your customers if you are not aware of your own product.
• The basic selling skills are equally important and you must always try to update yourself.
• Getting on with right attitude is the ultimate characteristics that will distinguish yourself in your selling field.

Setting your sales goals and planning how to achieve them:
Before achieving anything you must know what to achieve, i.e. you must set a reachable goal and then strive to achieve it. Having set of goals and plans to put them into action makes positive reinforcements. You should manage time and capital according to your goal and plan, you must repeatedly check on you current standing with respect to your goal and act accordingly.

Communication Skill:
Most important pillar of successful business and sales career is your communication skill, the best you can impress your customer is good for you.
• A potential customer wants two things: solutions to his problem and an assurance that he is making a right choice by choosing your product. If you fail to communicate with him and assure him, you must be aware that you lost the customer.
• Most people prefer to be guided through a sale, and hence you must keep on talking to them explaining step by step process of buying the product, if you fail to do so you may be getting that person out of your hands.
